Florida Democrats shared a Republican Party warning as proof of toss-up elections statewide.
Sharing a post from the Republican Party of Florida, the Florida Democratic Party tried to seize momentum in the state, encourage Democrats to vote, and recruit more people to get involved.
The Republican Party of Florida’s post warned that the races for Governor and U.S. Senate were very close, and encouraged Republicans to vote. “Florida’s governor and U.S. Senate races are razor thin. Leads don’t win elections. Turnout does. Find your county’s Republican slate and make your plan to vote,” the Republican Party of Florida posted.
“Yiiikes! Even the FL GOP is admitting that they are losing,” the Florida Democratic Party posted. “Don’t stop now. Take Florida Back. Vote November 3rd. Get involved.”
Republican Senator Ashley Moody is running against Democrat Angie Nixon, and Republican Byron Donalds is running for Governor against Democratic candidate David Jolly.
Trying to seize on all momentum possible ahead of Election Day, the FDP celebrated posting a larger monthly voter registration gain than Florida Republicans for the first time since 2021.
Florida Democrats added 29,633 active registered voters from September to October, outpacing Republicans, who added 29,140. According to Decision Desk HQ’s Michael Pruser, this marks the first time since he began tracking Florida voter registration in mid-2021 that Democrats have posted a larger monthly net gain than Republicans.
The party credited year-round organizing by state and local Democratic organizations.
“For years, Republicans have pointed to voter registration as proof that Florida belongs to them. This month, Florida voters sent a different message,” said Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried. “Floridians are tired of paying more for groceries, gas, housing, and insurance while Republicans in Tallahassee and Washington make life harder for working families.
“We’ve spent years rebuilding this party from the ground up. Our organizers are in communities year-round, our volunteers are knocking doors across this state, and Democrats are having real conversations with Floridians about what’s at stake. The momentum is real, and with Election Day just weeks away, we’re not taking our foot off the gas.”
