Clay, N.Y. - An Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office deputy was hospitalized Friday after his patrol car was struck on Interstate 481 in Clay.
The deputy had pulled off to the right side of I-481 northbound between Morgan Road and Route 31 just before 10 a.m. to assist a dump truck that had broken down, said Thomas Newton, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.
