As strong Santa Ana winds continue to pose danger for residents in Southern California, SoCal Edison shut off electricity to over 70,000 customers in an effort to prevent its equipment from sparking a fire.
In Moorpark, some residents are heading into a second day without electricity. It was not clear when it would be restored.
According to SoCal Edison’s Public Safety Power Shutoffs, over 34,000 customers in LA County are without power and another 48,000 in Ventura County.
Some residents in Kern, Santa Barbara and Tulare counties are also being affected by the power shutoffs.
